Photographic rifle

Description

Non-functional replica of the photographic (or chronophotographic) rifle invented by Etienne-Jules Marey in 1882.
The camera was designed like a real long gun: it had a “Derogy” lens in the barrel and a cylindrical breech, in which the sensitive plate turned when the trigger was pulled. A removable magazine could store 25 sensitive plate disks away from light.
The rifle could take 12 frames in 1 second, probably making it the first camera to provide such a fast succession of shots.
